Flight Dispatchers provide guidance to pilots before and during flight, with weather being a central issue (e.g., avoiding turbulences, dangerous weather, optimizing flights). They work with sophisticated display systems with amazing weather information.
This is a high paying job and in addition to your Atmos Sci degree, you would have to invest in flight dispatch training (at commercial and community college programs, such as Green River CC). Which will cost a few thousand dollars.
Alaska and other airlines have a high demand for dispatchers and are VERY enthusiastic about getting folks with weather backgrounds. Starting pay at AK is $35 an hour, great benefits, and FREE flying.
A very interesting and fun career path for those interested in aviation.
